Advice on math studies

Please pardon this dumb question. I am looking for advice on what Math Skills, (Geometry / Calculus / Algebra / Trigonometry), I should brush up on in preparation for my Upgrade Test for 1600T Master Oceans. I plan to start brushing up with those “DUMMY” books to get familiar with concept before I try to tackle the C.G. problems.

Thanks for any responses,
Ralph

Basic algebra and trig are all you need. No calc.

Ralph,
https://www.khanacademy.org/

It’s FREE

Also, you can skip most of the math by just using the tables in Bowditch II.

Good Luck!

Thank you

Many thanks!

x2 on Khan Academy, if you want modern conventional trig. Its very good pedagogy, even if modern conventional trig is not the best way to think about triangles. Dr. Wildberger knows the ancient secrets and why they are better. And he has an elementary math series on there, too.

I watch him, and I get this deep feeling of “oh! I get it!” which is such a good feeling, and then he looks at the camera with an expression that says, “I know, you totally get it, and its beautiful.” And then after that, my feelings are so inappropriate. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
