I felt pretty betrayed, honestly. It’s a company people want to work with, you never see their jobs on any union’s open ports/all ports board because people enjoy working for them. I already post enough identifying information here, just know if you think of top 3 deep sea shipping companies, this one probably comes to mind. It doesn’t have nearly as bad as a reputation as OSG.
Yet they still wouldn’t write a letter full well knowing what an AB Watch does on their ships. It’s just a reminder, we as sailors are just a number to them. It doesn’t matter if you are licensed or unlicensed, you work hard, maintain a good reputation, and we’re still boat trash to the office folk. Reminds me of those who have been cut a year before their pension is due. Make your money, and remember loyalty doesn’t exist in this world.
