Well qualified union heads that earn their salaries should be very well compensated. $300,000 or more isn’t a problem. The question is what is well qualified? Labor lawyer, MBA, sailing experience, especially recent sailing experience ? Success ar negotiating better contracts? Success at organizing non-union companies?
Sailed 30 years ago probably doesn’t mean much. Neither would 20 years in union management overseeing the sell out.
