I think it was already pointed out earlier in the thread (can’t search effectively with mobile browser) that the DDGs don’t have watertight doors on main bulkheads below the damage control deck.

If you are replying to me, I was talking about on merchant ships, not Navy. I have edited my comment to try to make that more clear.
