JA compliant LNG carriers anyone?

Spotted laid up in Haugesund the 1978 built (48 years ago) BERING ENERGY with carrying capacity of 126,750 cubic meters Liquid Gas and the 1978 built (48 years ago) GULF ENERGY with carrying capacity of 126,750 cubic meters Liquid Gas.

They tried to bring them back in 2011 under a Coast Authorization Act. I believe they needed too much work to be economically viable, so the owners never pulled the trigger. Not sure why they are still around as they seem to be small and I’m sure very inefficient by todays LNG tank vessels standards. I’m surprised they have not been scrapped yet. Maybe the could be sold as storage vessels if the equipment is still in decent shape?

The old Ahrenkiel ships? I was at Calhoon getting my GMDSS certs when some of the mates showed up, having been relieved by Croatians, who were no strangers to gas ships.
