I am studying a wind assisted system for a ship. In order to do that I need to have some wind statistical data. I have seen that wind velocity probability distribution can be well described with a Weibull distribution. I know that getting wind data taken from an ocean station can be quite tricky and I don’t really need them. I need to do a sensitivity analysis, so I only want to see how the system behaves when varying wind conditions within a typical range.
So the only think that I need is to have a reasonable range for the shape and scale factors of Weibull distribution for wind speed data.
Do you know more or less what could be reasonable min and max values for Weibull parameters in case they describe wind velocity distribution in ocean?
