Hello everyone,
My name is Michael and I’m a French writer currently working on a novel. For this reason, I’m looking for information about the Fairstar and her 29-day voyage in July 1981, from Darwin to Sydney, via Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, Ambon, Cairns, Whitsunday, and Brisbane.
Is there anyone here who knows about this voyage and could tell me about it, perhaps sharing anecdotes, incidents, weather conditions, encounters, life on board, etc.?
This would be invaluable in making my novel more realistic.
Thanks,
Michael
Maybe you would do better asking that question here:
https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/564-australia-new-zealand-cruisers/
PS: There is questions about TSS Fairstar’s itinerary in the 1980s on there already.
You may get luck.
Dear Ombugge, I am already aware of the existence of discussions concerning the Fairstar on that forum, but thank you anyway.
There’s a 25 minute video on YouTube about one of her cruises earlier that year. While not what your asking for, it is a lead for perhaps more content later?
Hi,
Thanks a lor the link. I’ll watch it and post ASAP.
