I’m sure that once they secure the port up two or three roro’s will ship out this weekend. From What I have heard in the pipe is navy and army are ready to make the call. So tomorrow should be a good day to be in the hall…

yep definitely calling dispatch tomorrow

I do know that Haiti’s very first request was use of a hospital ship… but I do not know if the US agreed to send one.

Article I came across this morning pertaining to aid.

And this snippet: The World Food Program said Thursday that damage to Haiti’s port in the capital Port-au-Prince is preventing ship deliveries to quake-struck region, according to news reports. It said the city’s airport is open but straining to handle dozens of incoming flights of supplies and rescuers.

the UN’s esteemed envoy to Haiti and Monica’s BBF keeps referring to utilizing ships for relief operations…IMHO he is “out of touch” and needs to get his “boots on the ground”…tugs and barges will be required initially!!

Maybe to those who don’t know much about ocean transportation anything that comes by sea is carried on a ship. He does know that air transport is not enough and ocean transport is the only other option.

I am sure those people are not the ones who arrange the charters so why rag on them because they don’t get the terms exactly correct?

I accept with information:
