Sea Star's El Faro
This is the internet, and an open forum. You jump on a rec boat sailor and demand he hold his piece for being a newbie, and not having the sea stripes worthy to take column inches away from your precious forum,
these were the man’s words damning the master and I am not going to allow him to make such harmful claims with impunity…he does not have that right regardless of his forum status
Finally had to make this account for this El Faro disaster. Here are my thoughts.

1: Who the hell made the decision to sail directly into or near this hurricane? On my sailboat, I can get weather in real time. I would in no way sail near a hurricane. I am going to assume they have the same ability on these massive ships, hopefully better. Sure, it was forecast for a tropical storm, but it quickly blew up into a savage storm and wobbled on it’s heading many times. Forecasts change quickly and I am convinced no one on earth knew what this storm was going to do for a while down there. I suspect there is going to be a criminal investigation into this. I can’t imagine the Master would sail into this storm unless he/she was pressured to do so heavily with unrealistic schedules. Sadly, another thought is arrogance on the part of the Master. It has happened before where experience makes people take risks because they think they can get away with it.
he is clearly stating that Davidson caved to pressure of the owners (utterly without evidence other than some Jacksonville newspaper article quoting ex crewmembers who are not masters) and/or that he possessed arrogance that he would overlook safe practices (also using the same article to support his claims)

UNACCEPTABLE and WILL NOT STAND!
