Report: The Impacts of GNSS Interference on Maritime Safety

It is something that I have argued for for years. The bridge needs the same alarm setup as the engine room where they manage to set up a whole lot of diverse equipment to one central alarm system and display. ONE button cancels all audible alarms. It helps the operator prioritize their response. Under present systems a number of alarms on bridge equipment will not stay canceled when acknowledged. At these moments it is possibly a good thing that the OOW is not armed. The one button could be the Bridge Watch keeping Alarm doing double duty.

You are correct in your observation of Gyro compasses. Vessels engaged in trade in the Pacific Island find it difficult to get them serviced.

IMO/Class total failure in that area
On a AHTS cant remember how many times a team of us pulling cabinets apart trying to find some new alarm while working
Typically some device overheating but you never knew you had that device
