Nothing much to see. Had a shutdown the last time Trump was president so everyone knows how this works. Supposed to be about saving money but no mention of the 279 Billion dollars a DAY being spent in the ‘defense’ budget’. This shutdown is part of Project 2025 which is proceeding rapidly and can be tracked online. OMB director Vought was the architect of that plan. Read the tracker to follow the game.

It’s always something with those guys. Every shutdown in the last 30 years has been when Republicans were in charge of the House.
I see congress hasn’t passed a budget on time in 27 years. What a stupid way to run a government.
In Australia, if a budget bill, called “Supply”, isn’t passed, the government is obliged to resign and will be dissolved and a new election called. That’s what should happen. But you have such a wonderfully superior system that allows all sorts of ‘earmarks’ to be sneaked in and when you eventually find out what was approved you find yourselves funding inane boondoggles in Dead Horse Gulch, or worse, WTFistan.
No yes votes go unrewarded and your corrupt politicians walk away counting their largesse for selling their souls.
Dems shut it down. That’s who to blame. FAFO.

This continuing resolution is supposedly of the Biden era, the house passed it but it requires a 60 vote majority to pass in the senate. 2-3 Democrat senators did vote in favor of it, but several more are still needed for it to pass.
But yes, as always, the republicans are the bad guys.
I would prefer to see pay stopped for all of congress until an actual budget that cuts spending is passed but that will never happen.
