Most posters here, but not all, are reasonable and looking to share helpful information.

I can hear the theme from jaws growing louder in anticipation…

What’s a “Merchant Marine”, do they get guns. Ohhh maybe it’s a cool new term for mercenaries .

The United States Merchant Marine[1] is the fleet of U.S. civilian-owned merchant vessels, operated by either the government or the private sector, that engage in commerce or transportation of goods and services in and out of the navigable waters of the United States.

Some people take pride and appreciate the importance of our industry…once again negativity

Top marks for google ability. Cut and paste skills legendary.

well ive purchased it and so far so good. it breaks everything down into category which makes it easier and gives you random questions on which ever category you select. all the forms are helpful as well. Its well worth the 9 bucks. considering all the other software on the computer is anywhere from $75-99 and itll be convenient in the bunk

The issue is the name Merchant Marine is NOT what this industry is about. It is occaisionally mis used for some particular gain as needed. But is not an accurate phrase.

This is one example of how it is misused.

You got guff because you posted a link to another blowhard who can’t even get his title correct. The author is a ‘Merchant Mariner’ He is NOT a Merchant Marine.

ok ok fair enough. I understand your point. I’m simply stating what I was always called. no blowhard here. just wanted to find out if anyone else had used the app. and got submerged in remarks having nothing to do with what I asked about. as I’m sure you know I deal with plenty of arrogant “blow hard” individuals at work we don’t need them here when help/advice is all we are searching for

1
: the privately or publicly owned commercial ships of a nation
2
: the personnel of a merchant marine; specifically : a member of a merchant marine
— merchant mariner noun

As Yoda said: ‘You are not the blowhard I was referring to.’ The author, creator who felt he had to brag about CV is the blowhard.

Personally, I use sea sources.net for my multiple guess refresher.

Jarhead, Marine, Boat Trash, Captain, Potato, Tomato, sugar is sweet and who gives a shit.

I hope that study material helps James; let us know more about it.

I will say it sounds like a good program, pretty inexpensive too.

Bought it. Ill see how it works.

Don’t get your panties ruffled. When Mr. Cavo displays humor…sit back…shut up…and enjoy the moment!
