The survey is unlikely to be conducted at a lay by berth so it will be conducted at the same time as cargo work and engine room maintenance.

The remote surveys are trying to take into account this, so instead of a survey taking the day in port, a remote survey may be done over multiple days and weeks. Trying to alleviate that added pressure and stress on the crew. (This is from experience with these remote surveys)
Seeing is believing. Would be interested to hear from crews(Especially engine guys) who have experienced these type of surveys. if thier workload increased, decreased, or remained the same during this type of survey.
