More respect for US Navy officers and enlisted personnel needed

I will say that 45 years ago, when I go to my first ship as an Ensign, I was told that the “Morale Officer” as always the CO, and it was one role he (no she back then) could not delegate.

The name “Morale Officer” was more “tongue in cheek” than an actual description of duties. At least in my day. It was a safe, collateral duty for the youngest JO.
