Mandatory requirement for AIS in Indonesian waters

Guard P&I has warned that Indonesia is imposing mandatory AIS for all vessels traversing Indonesian waters.
For foreign vessels this applies to all types and with no minimum size stated:

was done for foreign pleasure boats several years ago, they come on board and want to see the lights flashing…
They dont seem to have any method to receive it so you never hear about it.
( Singpoare police still dont have ais on the outboard powered boats, only the new bigger ones but it is enforced and they can check it)
