Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree and Second Assistant Engineer’s license with current sea time and STCW Certification. Candidates should have a thorough theoretical background in Marine Engineering combined with practical knowledge gained onboard operating vessels. This includes an environmental background as it pertains to ships’ environmental systems designed to protect the marine environment. Candidates should also have experience in course development and classroom/lab instruction. The ideal candidate should have a substantial combination of experience as a Licensed Engineer, Port Engineer and Shipyard Engineer.

Yet it’s a non-tenure position with an emaciated salary (53-55k) in one of the most expensive cities in the nation. One would need to be independently wealthy to accept this position.
