Mariners, yes - but everyone else for the last decade, not so much.
It’s such a small world on the Lakes I don’t want to get into specifics, but I know of a company with ships idled that is sailing with extra crew on the ones they are running so as to not lose them. Fortunately I have enough seniority to not be too hurt by them downturn, assuming it doesn’t get worse.
