A developing storm low along the south coast of Newfoundland will deepen rapidly as it moves east-northeastward across the North Atlantic reaching hurricane force winds during the next 12-18 hours with winds reaching 50-70 knots and seas building up to 17.5 meters by 00UTC 8 February as it nears the coasts of Ireland and Scotland.
