When first starting out, you need to stick with one company and take what opportunities come within that company. After you get some experience you can start hopping around, but be careful of doing this too soon. You don’t know what you don’t know.
Try to work close with some experienced guys you trust. They will let you know when you are actually ready.
Until then, kill it at every task you are given. The guy who scrubs toilets vigorously will always get my recommendation over the guy who acts like that is beneath him.
