It is a sad thing m.v. El Faro sank. It’s a good thing that organization’s like NTSB and US Coast Guard investigated this disaster.
What surprises me is that one of the conclusions was that the El Faro crew should have been better trained instead of concluding that the ship was an unseaworthy piece of junk.
You may have an admiral in person on board, it would have done you little good to safe a leaking bad tube even in good weather.
I assume that the US coastguard is as mush responsible for allowing a ship like that to leave port as were the owners and the Classification Society
Only backward countries allow such forty years old ship a flag.
And then, very sorry to say so, the way it’s captain accepted ship and handled the whole situation does not indicate a very solid or able person.
