The Club World Cup in football (Soccer to Americans) has just been completed in Miami, Fl. with a 3-0 win for Chelsea FT over PSG after a farcical final and trophy parading ceremony:

When they dig gold in the US

The first major World Cup for club teams has been hot, steamy and controversial. But it is also here to stay, whether you like it or not.
It all ended exactly as it should have – in total chaos.
After Chelsea had just beaten PSG with a sensational 3-0 in the final of what must be called the first real Club World Cup in football, it all broke out into pure fights between players and coaches out on the turf in New Jersey.

And when tempers finally calmed down enough for the ceremonial trophy presentation, the 47th US president, also known as Donald J. Trump, took over the show again.
Trump refused to remove himself from the podium and contributed to absurd and in some ways very relevant final images from a World Cup that no one has quite understood at any point.

The Norwegian national team manager launched this year’s new word in sports when he called the whole thing the “coconut cup” up front.
And Solbakken would be right.

A half-decent World Cup final

PSG from Paris met Chelsea from London in the historic first final of the innovation that has taken place in the United States over the past month.
Everyone fairly neutral hoped PSG would win.
It was the only final result that would have given the entire tournament some kind of sporting legitimacy.
Chelsea reached the final because they were lucky with the draw and because the tournament actually means something to their slightly limping greatness. Not because they are one of the two best club teams in the world at the moment.

The World Cup was the American-owned club’s opportunity to win an attractive tournament this season. The Premier League, which the London team won, does not count in these contexts.
Sunday’s surprising elimination of Champions League winners PSG stands as the last symbol of a tournament that will soon be forgotten.
Few will remember who won the tournament. It has been more or less secondary the whole time anyway.

Billions as motivation

The important thing for the clubs and their owners has been the gigantic cash prizes in the tournament, not whether they are successful in sports.
The winning team will return to Europe on Monday with a little over a billion kroner in wealth. But many of the big teams that didn’t come close to making it very far have also increased their club revenues by several hundred million kroner just by participating.

This helps with motivation. For the club directors. Who are the ones who decide what the players do and think in such contexts.
For most of those players, this is a tournament none of the European stars wanted.
Because the calendar is already full. The final was the 64th club match for both PSG and Chelsea this season.

Then leave the winning team to celebrate, not try to hog the limelight.

The infantile President has lusted after a winner’s trophy ever since his boss, V. Putin, stole one of Bob Kraft’s Super Bowl Rings. So he kept the one that FIFA brought to the WH for a photo op in March.

Dang it! That first linked article was in Klingon & I didn’t understand a word of it. Then the latest were written in TDS Liberal Speak which is a sub-dialect of the American English language where the subject & everything else is required to be fixated on Donald Trump for some reason?
