I haven’t seen anything about that.
The weather routing I’ve seen updates every two or three day. Even if there are no changes you get a message “recommended route remains valid” along with some kind of info on the expected weather and a discussion of the salient points. If the captain has concerns with the recommendation he can send a message with an alternative plan and get their take on it.
If the tow was not making the assumed speed and the captain thought that was an issue he could just send a message to the routing company. That’s what they are being paid for.
