Deepwater Horizon - Transocean Oil Rig Fire
Though I can in no way know for sure, I would hazard a guess that the committee members - including Senator Waxman - were privy to the full contents of the report well before it was released publicly. This is SOP. I’m sure he and his staffers had plenty of time to digest and analyse the report prior to the issuance of his statement.

Agreed!

As was commented in the media at the time of the release, rather than a full-on internal investigation, the report gives a good indication of how BP intends to defend itself in the courts. No way in hell would a publicly issued ‘report’ by BP claim ‘mia culpa’ - too many billions on the table.

Have YOU read the report? What’s your interpretation? It’s full of fact. But, these facts are open to interpretation during the trials. Be specific about what you disagree with…or are you continuing to echo the voice of the uninformed media who only want the blood of BP?

This is going to drag out for years in the courts and will not be settled by boosters (Alcor) nor detractors of BP B.

For myself? I personally will never set foot on a BP operated rig again until there is convincing evidence of a cultural change within its ranks. Again, when it comes to safety - both in Upstream and Downstream operations - the overwhelming evidence to-date is that they (BP) ‘talk-the-talk’, but have failed consistently to ‘walk-the-walk’.

You should wait for the trials to find out who is ultimately responsible, and how that came to light. Try to dismiss the nonsense the media has presented over the past 5 months and consider that others had bigger failures, others who were controlling the well, the vesel leaders. Open your mind to more than brainwashing. Otherwise, your children may also end up circumcised!

Keep an open mind and we’ll all find out what happened.
