Deepwater Horizon - Transocean Oil Rig Fire
There is something said yesterday which is puzzling the crap out of me. It indicated the riser was pressurized above the seafloor hydrostatic pressure. How can this be true?

I also want to bring up something so far overlooked…was it not an incomprehensible blunder in sinking the rig while the well was still flowing? Granted, there would have been some huge hurdles to overcome to keep the rig in position while it was burning, but it certainly would have been a much better move to make than sinking the rig with all that seawater and putting out the giant flare which was consuming virtually all the hydrocarbons being released from the riser. Who was the responsible on scene incident commander during those first two days?
Don Winslow was the on scene person, but does that REALLY matter? The BOP failed. It is still flowing. That has not changed. Rig there or not - It is still flowing. So, you think that the rig would still be there, in a better position, still on fire minus any water up till now? You cannot be serious.
