I think I need new batteries in my crystal ball… it’s getting kind of dim.
I don’t have any insight into bp’s long term strategy, but when this well is finally killed and filled with cement, then it will be abandoned and won’t be of any use anymore.
The reservoir they tapped (drilled) into is commercial and I’m pretty sure at some point in the future a new well(s) will be drilled into it to produce it.
The big question is which company will be allowed to drill and produce those wells? In my opinion there will be big political input to that question.
