Deepwater Horizon - Transocean Oil Rig Fire

We are off thread - but
Well this says it all. You’ve not only defended criminal premeditation, you’re also defending murdering terrorists scum. Hell can’t get hot enough for your ilk. If this well cap doesn’t hold, or this thing starts flowing out of a crack somewhere else, I swear to God I will punch the next person from England I meet square in the face & break his jaw compliments of you. You are a maggot of the worst degree & if BP F…s this up, I will be preaching war with you bastards.
I gave up on spending life trying to work out the al Megrahi issue. It took years to get him to court and there were all sorts of delaying activities and the Brit prosecution team seemed to be pathetic about getting him to court. The main driver to get justice done, over the years, was one of the fathers of one of the victims. He did a fantastic job. I heard an in depth radio interview with him shortly before the release. He was cool and calm, and an excellent witness to all the process that had gone on over the years.

Basically he stated (I will paraphrase): nobody fought harder and pushed the authorities harder or for longer than I did. One of the most satisfying days of my life was when he was eventually convicted. I thought justice for the loss of my daughter had been done. I was satisfied. Over the years since I have questioned the things that never seemed to add up. I have found out more and discovered facts that were never made known to us before the hearing. I am now wholly convinced that al Megrahi is innocent. He is the wrong man and we have had the wrong man presented to us for us to prosecute. Keeping him locked up just adds another victim to this incident. I now want al Megrahi to go free.

I can remember having a beer and watching a 2 hour documentary about the case when he was convicted. I sat there like an everyday Jo and had a great sense that “we had got our man” and “that’ll show 'em”. I don’t know the ins and outs of it all - but if someone that close and who destroyed his life for so many years to get him behind bars, when so many did not want to do anything, now says the guy is innocent, that was good enough for me. Somewhere we got something wrong.

Back on thread - No more oil added to the gulf today - brilliant news. Well done to all who did it. We wait and hope it stays good. Lots of questions still left and needing answers but at the current time - a pause while we watch as they make sure this well is killed. Time for focus to move to the clean up. Serious work to be done there.
