Seemingly, at the point the picture was taken the lower pontoon of the rig would be holding up the structure from completely breaking away.

The derrick toppled over sometime during the night of 20th. There is a pic somewhere of it going over.
This pic shows what looks like the remains of the derrick hanging over the starboard side of the rig.
