Deepwater Horizon - Transocean Oil Rig Fire
I googled BP casing design check: http://gomcontractors.bp.com/files/BP_DWOP_Policy.pdf
Kasol thanks for the posting of this link. according to the preface & first two sections of this document, BP failed in all of its objectives to live up to their own best safe practices as well as industry standards. They did fail in this document to understand the need for primary & secondary barriers for well control due to design change which then placed the outter casings at risk to uncontrolled flow by virtue of rupture discs in the intermedaite casing string. Once again this is a confrimation of game, set & match that is an indictment of their own failure to have a controlled management of change where employee & contractor safety as well as environmental damge were negated by best practices. This was done in a manner that was balls to the wall & let the chips fall where they may, devil may care attitude which reflects their corporate standing & position throughout their activities across the United States & is not acceptable as members of this industry or corporate citizens in the United States.
The further lowballing of statistics & lack of spill containment & reponse will only be exasterbated as time passes & we see the hidden oil be brought onto land & inland by the coming storm surge of our first hurricane of the season. I pray that the wells on the Atlantis platform hold up & this disaster isn’t multiplied by some 10 fold due to possible negligence committed by BP on these other facilities.
