Is there any validity to what Simmons recently suggested to put the US Navy in charge and placing an explosive to shut the well down?

He also asserts that this is not even the main leak.
If the BOP and casing are damaged already what good will it do to install another BOP on top of it? Couldn’t the increase in pressure cause it to fail further and leak more?
What do think of this guy’s assertion he could have stopped it in 8 hours of the initial accident?
