Maybe unless we have integrity issues with the top of the well. Some believe we had cement issues early on. The blowout itself may have done damage to the well, cement or casing. Then a successful junk shot may bridge a partial closed BOP/Ram. The smart people in the room have been worried about all of this from the beginning.
All that said there is some less than clear video of gas coming out near the ground of from the ground near the well. Where would that come from?
Do you remember when I said people who read you get instantly dumber? This is (yet) another one of those times. Yes, this kind of event can happen, in fact, I have seen a well blow out of the ground (while air-lifting, but I don’t expect you to know what the hell that is), but long before the well blows out of the ground, the weak link in the system (which is probably the bent riser at the top, which is already paper thin) will relieve the pressure by giving way. My guess is the person who suggested that also suggested blowing the well up with a nuke.
Please, bp, sent a smarter disinformation specialist.
