that tanker ports and pilots that mostly handle tankers are more likely to use a tug aft than is the case in similar situations in non-tanker ports/pilots.

Perhaps the non tanker ports could learn some lessons off the tanker ports. A single aft tug would have saved the Dali and we would not be having this conversation.
