Why should ‘mwc’ be a non-linear unit? Meters of Water Column?
Non-linear are e.g.:

Oh! What was I thinking? You’re totally correct. Water pressure is linear with depth.
Decibels are a great example.
Beaufort Scale in nonlinear.
Sure, blame the Rooskies . After all, I hear they’re behind the plot to elect the Donald.
Scary isn’t?? No, not the Rooski part, but The Donald part.

Don’t worry about writing in your mother tongue. I’m struggling to do so.
PS> I didn’t know you were from the Bayous.
equally scary as the other one in her own way. But we don’t do politics here, so i have been told.
Yep that’s the unit. It ain’t metric but is fulfilling.
I can personally recommend the Hobbit Juice here.

The growler bottle is shown near the bottom of the page. Good luck in your new business. I know, I know you probably invented the micro-brewery.
Would you like any New Jersey Hops to start with? I can have Ulstein whip up a Hop Bulker. Would be built in US and US flaged though.
Hey play it both ways. Retain the Growler as the container but label it in ml. Growler sounds so much better don’t you think? Viva la difference.
I have looked into this idea, but it is unworkable in Norway. Not because I didn’t invent the micro-brewery, (I know a couple of guys who have been brewing as a hobby for years and make a mean Porter and Stout) but because Norway has some of the strictest (archaic?) rules and regulations for the sale of alcoholic beverages in the world.
Forget to set up a Growler Station in a gas station, or even in a 7-Eleven etc. They are not allowed to sell alcohol at all.
Beer can be sold in shops only until 2200 hrs. (10 PM) on weekdays, 1800 hrs. (6 PM) on Saturdays and not at all on Sundays.
Beer and sodas etc. can only be sold in standard bottles and cans, which is returnable and recyclable.
(You pay a fee for each bottle/can, which is refundable when handed back intact, sans content)
That rules out Growlers or Handles or whatever “container” you bring to tap it into. (TEUs are definitely out)
Strong beer (ABV >5%) can only be sold in Vinmonopolet (State liqueur shop), as can wine and hard liqueur.
Likewise, Restaurants, Pubs and Bars can only sell alcohol for consumption on the premises, so that rules out that option.
That is the “National” rules, but each of the 470 or so Municipalities make their own local rules and license who are allowed to sell and serve alcohol, how and when. Even the many small craft breweries that has sprung up is restricted in how they can sell their brews. Micro-breweries that serve directly to customers is a rarity, but one has applied to set up shop here in Aalesund. It will probably take a local referendum to decide on that one.
So, thanks for the info and idea, but I’ll be looking for something a little simpler to get past the bureaucratic system. I have been here for 4 months now and are still struggling to understand how everything works.
PS> I didn’t know you were from the Bayous.
Not from the bayou; from the banks of the St. Lawrence. American dad, French mom. Learned French from mom but dad not around much so learned English from watching John Wayne westerns till school started. There you have it, pilgrim.

I’m very worried no matter which side wins.
certain parts of the US have similar laws. Despite what the media says the whole place isn’t the Wild West of “COPS” and reality tv.
Compared to most other places, America remains the home of the free. We have lost a lot of freedom as we have become more of a Euro-style bureaucratic nanny state, but it’s still much better here than almost anywhere else.

Almost as good as Norway
Almost as good as Norway :D
Norway is wonderful for anyone with a lot of money — that does not need to pay Norwegian taxes, or care that a beer costs $10, or that a gallon of gasoline is about the same. Ja Ja.

I would rather be poor in Norway and rich in America. Norway is great for the poor part of the population, safety net and all. I pay approximately 30% in taxes, that is not that much more then you pay total?
There are a lot of worse places than both Norway and the US.
That is the good damn truth! To be born a white male in North America or North Europe is like winning lotto, every day for the rest of your life.
I pay approximately 30% in taxes, that is not that much more then you pay total?
I don’t remember being in anything lower than 39% bracket but we have a ridiculously convoluted tax system so it doesn’t mean I pay 39% of my income in taxes. We have a zillion tax deductions to explore and experiment with. And we have scammers who know how to siphon off the system as I am sure you do.
And we have scammers who know how to siphon off the system as I am sure you do.
Actually I get my tax form pre filled from the goverment, delivered electronic. I have not changed anything of the information they have stored on me in the last 6 years. So it’s hard to play the system here.

You are very trusting but handing over power. We have options.
You are very trusting but handing over power. We have options.
The Nordic model would not work if the population did not trust the goverment. And the tax form is no big deal, everything is reported by the employer anyway.
