Container congestion

It is getting worse rather than better:

And it is not enough to blame greedy foreign Shipowners:

But help is on the way:

Improvement on USWC:

Chinese port cities facing lockdown again:

PSA has a way to reduce terminal and road congestion in Singapore:

What congestion?

Seems over in the States.

Congestion any place else?

I’m fascinated by what drives the conversation on Gcaptain and what does not. From Gcaptain yesterday [edited at …]:

“…Container imports into the U.S. saw their biggest decline in more than a decade last month…January now marks seven straight months of expanding year over year declines…West Coast ports once again the biggest declines in January, down 23.5% yoy… East and Gulf Coast ports showed only a 12.6% decline in January…On the other hand, containerized exports continue to improve with outbound volume up 11.9% last month to a little more than 811,000 TEUs, marking the third monthly gain and best month out of the last 20…”

So the containership backlog–once the source of weeks and weeks of outrage and pontificating on this forum-- is gone. What’s more, exports are up. This apparently doesn’t merit any interest on Gcaptain.

Why?
No drama?
No comic book villains?
