Somebody should have told them to not use water to fight the fire like they did…they could’ve made it worse because muh hydrogen.
Even in a hydrogen fire you do boundary cooling.
Most of the spectacle came from the fiberglass fairing. The stack fire itself probably would not have made the evening news.
Did the unfathomable hydrogen fire strike here?!?
Unless Grand Turk is a lot different than last time I was there, this has to be most exciting thing of 2022 and I have no clue what the cruise ship passengers do once they get off the ship.
The empty ‘Carnival Conquest’ is coming from Miami to take all passengers of the ‘Carnival Freedom’ back to Florida.
Then, the ‘Freedom’ will sail to Freeport for repairs.
Is it just me or did those outside hoses they were using seem pretty pointless/gutless?
I never was near a big stack fire.
However, to me, it seems that cooling the outside of the structure of the stack is about the only thing you can do to prevent a collapse of the whole art work.
It just seemed to me that the hoses they had were just peeing in the air and not reaching anything on the stack at all.
