The name of the thread is AB inland license. I was just trying to help. I’m not sure I’m intelligent enough to read this thread correctly so instead of trying to be helpful, I’ll go finish mowing my lawn.
That’s what I’m looking for. How many members of AWO have sea time? I might say 0.5 on average. How much does the president of AWO who has no sea time make…600k
You are exactly the persons opinion I want.
I included you because I want your help.
The title is misleading. For experienced guys there’s no reason they couldn’t get AB Special, maybe even require one on each inland tug.
What the OP is talking about is a new deckhand training class that takes place with a formal curriculum so everyone is learning to do things the same (right?) way. That minimizes injury and keeps the new guys from slowing work down to much while they’re getting the hang of things.
AWO members are companies. I’m not sure any corporation has sea ever earned sea time.
That is exactly it and my question to you @Capt_Phoenix would this be another tax on the industry.
So that means it’s acceptable for people who haven’t ever done it to make the rules… no fucking way
Which? Requiring inland boats to carry at least one AB? Or requiring the classroom training of new deckhands?
Thank you for explaining it. The rest of the industry needs that also. My lawn is finished.
Both.
It’s an organization made up of maritime companies. There are plenty of people that have sea time involved in everything. Plus, they don’t really make “rules”, per see.
An AB license, same rules but for inland. Yes or no? It doesn’t exist now and it should.
It does exist, it just isn’t required on any inland boats.
No it doesnt, that’s my point…an AB license is offshore. Why do the guys who work the hardest make the least?
fuck them, they don’t have a day of sea time and they make the rules.
Awo is crooked, of you want to learn more follow Rocky Marciano on LinkedIn.
They don’t make the rules, the membership does.
They also don’t really make “rules” either.
It DOESN’T matter! Why are they making the fucking rules!
What rules do you think this mysterious “they” has made?
Why shouldn’t Kirby, Marquette, etc make the rules?
