Did 12 seasons in Bristol Bay. 10 as crew on gillnetters, 1 in command, and 1 as an engineer on a dismally maintained landing-craft tender which I managed to nursed through the season without downtime. After that I did software engineering until I ‘retired’.

My interest in boats/ships has been re-kindled because I see it as a potentially viable way to travel even if I dis-agree with policies associated with commercial airline travel going forward. Similarly, having a sufficiently sized vessel might allow more time to make a decision about what countries, if any, have sensible policies following a 'next one’™ pandemic-ish thing.
