i am a retired marine surveyor, 40 years is san francisco california, now retired to the beaches of florida.
i surveyed most of the commercial tugs, barges and ferries in the area, some of my accounts were Crowley marine, WETA, Blue and gold fleet.

i also worked as a surveyor for Kiewit Manson joint ventures for the building of the new SF Bay Bridge, the Bencia Bridge and the removal of the footings for the old SF Bay Bridge. i was an avid sailor in SF Bay and did a lot of yachts as well as cargo inspections and heavy lift work.
i started at 23 years old and retired ant 68. i was the youngest surveyor in san Francisco at the time i started and was at the tail end of break bulk cargo and the near beginning of containerization. The first container cranes were designed and built in the SF bay area
