That delay is due to the new passports. They’re having issues with the hard plastic photo page from what I understand.
Falling Waters is barely WV. It’s about an hour to Bethesda for example.
It’s a suburb of Washington and Baltimore. Even closer to Loudon County, VA with some of the best schools in the country.
After my request for reconsideration was denied and my evaluator stopped responding, I called my congressman. I had some very senior NMC employee call me within about a week, an apology, and my letter to test sent the next day. This was some years ago, and involved a request to test for both master and mate 500. Evaluator couldn’t wrap her head around why I wanted mate if I had the time for master.
Also my congressman at the time was the chair of the Homeland Security appropriations subcommittee. Maybe that made a difference, maybe not.
Regardless, congressional offices typically have fairly robust constituent services staffs to help folks unjam this sort of thing.
The delays have been going on much longer than the “new printer” excuse.
I had to do the same thing with the TSA and a TWIC renewal. I lost an entire hitch waiting for a renewal and could never get past the answering service the TSA uses. I submitted a request to Senator Mark Warner of Virginia for assistance. The same day his office sent an inquiry, I received a call directly from the TSA notifying me that my TWIC would be mailed immediately.
