Thing is Harvey is owned by said bankers now.
Gulfmark and Tidewater merger is a good fit. Lots of overlap onshore all over the world that will be let go that will help free up capital.
Harvey and Gulfmark would have just been a mess. Harvey has no real experiance operating overseas on a large scale. They have no support infrastructure outside the gulf so the merger would not have seen any reduction by combining resources except in the US. It was just a way to get Harvey on the stock market in my view.
