My answer is directed to those considering ROTC, SSOP, and other military programs. I usually advise against such programs. The untold story of ROTC is that many don’t make it with disastrous consequences. I have nothing against the military. I just hate to see good men drop out because they messed around too much. Especially, freshmen.
Ask yourself: Have you passed Calculus 1 & 2? Weed out courses, are very tough on younger students. Most of you should have the fear of God in you about passing those courses. Why? Because most of you won’t pass. ROTC is a very distracting activity for many people. I urge most of you to prove yourself before indulging in such distractions, especially ROTC.
