What is the sensor VD0001 in furuno ecdis fmd3100 ?
I have a strong feeling it’s the Doppler speed log. Based on the operator manual discussion of sensor data filter noting a sensor VD0001 is capable of SOG/STW and compared with other speed data sources (GPS)… but the manuals don’t spell it out exactly.

Exactly . There isnt any explanation about this abbreviation in the manual . Thanks though .
Sensor inputs to ECDIS are: AIS, GYRO, GPS and LOG.
The required data is STW/CTW. By the process of elimination it’s got to be LOG.
