I have lately been contacted by a company who is [B][U]moving a large Tug (US Armed Services) from US Gulf to the Middle East[/U][/B]. For this reason, the company is looking for the following personnel, for a 50-60 day stint ONLY. I am looking for the right personnel for the delivery job. I have the following and wish to see if anyone is interested. All crew must be US citizens 🙂 and hold qualifications as per below 1- Master w/1600 GT or greater Oceans Endorsement, STCW 1- Mate w/1600 GT or greater, Oceans Endorsement, STCW 1- Chief Engineer w/Limited Oceans, 4,000 HP or greater, STCW 1- Assistant Engineer w/Limited Oceans, 4,000 HP or greater, STCW 2-Able Seaman w/Unlimited, MMD, STCW 2-QMED w/MMD, STCW 1-Cook w/MMD, STCW Anyone may contact me at [ship.manning@gointerlink.com](mailto:ship.manning@gointerlink.com) or surely on this forum for more information. Please note:- A “Towing Endorsement” is not needed. An “Oceans Endorsement” IS NEEDED for allowing Ocean Crossings!! ---

I got the same. It is to bring a tug from Florida to Kuwait. There will supposedly be 2-8 Army/Navy personnel. I can only guess for Security. I never got any word about pay. It is a straight delivery, not towing anything. Tug is 128 feet. ---

Captain Rishi, I am a US licensed Third Mate, Oceans, Any Gross Tons license holder. I have a current GMDSS Operator License, Able Seaman Unlimited MMD, TWIC, US Passport, VSO certification and STCW OICNW. I am interested in and available for the Mate position. ---

Their obvious lack of knowledge of the laws governing towing vessels, and their ridiculous 12 hour demands make me want to stay away. ---

We’re sailors, for crying out loud. Since people on land assume we’re seldom correct about anything, all we can do is cry about stuff, and consider why people like you try to shut us up. Thanks for pointing that out. If it is a military/public vessel, why doesn’t the military or the government crew it instead of some funky ass crewing agency with a slapped together website? But no, they seek professionals. Professionals who won’t put up with a two watch boat on an ocean voyage. Professionals who know better. Professionals who are sick of scammy crap like this. So why don’t you take it and we can put this to rest, while you get none during the voyage. ---

She may be being delivered bareboat without towing tackle. In which case she wouldn’t be of much help to a deadship. ---
