Greetings all. I have spent some time and perused through some threads regarding Tidewater already, however I am putting out there some questions to any current employees. Please PM me if you care to answer. Thanks. I am currently waiting for a background check to come back through from them.

How is their insurance? Do they pay for upgrades? AB/QMED pay?

I know some folks get upset when questions are repeated, so I will apologize if I didn’t find these answers on my own already. Like I said I did use the search engine extensively. VR brumefield

While I don’t have any direct experience with Tidewater, it may be worth it if it is a chance to get your foot in the door in the oil patch and get some experience.

It is easier to find a job when you are in the inside looking out than from the outside when looking in.

I worked there for 2 years back in the late 90’s. they did have a program for upgrades back then. I did get my Mates ticket through them. No cost to me. It was a good place to start in the patch back then. I did feel like a number though. They had a lot of junk back then and still do, most of their boats are now overseas.
