The Ramifications

what function do mid terms achieve?

Achieve?

Mostly just show the herd which way the wind is blowing, and they provide free data to the parties at public expense.

The idea that primaries are “closed” affairs is a scam as well. If they want to control who is allowed to vote then the party should pay for the costs. Personally, I do not vote in primaries, I will not provide them with party affiliation, registration, or any other data they can use to manipulate their clan.

The important thing many people forget is it is the independent voters who decide any election, 45% of the voters are not aligned with any party as they are disgusted with both parties. I have always been an independent.

From these responses it would appear that Trump will have free reign until 2028. A scary and dangerous prospect.

practicing on themselves

The stuff of sheer genius……..

but can change the power of the party voted in so cant do anything..
Hopeless system 2 years of power then possible change to no power, rinse repeat in 2 years cycles

Soon to hold forth in his billion dollar ballroom paid for by? Not the rich contributors he claimed were going to foot the bill when he announced it but by taxpayers.

The wealthy have always been very skilled at pretending like they aren’t a burden to the rest of society and don’t actually suck at the trough that the rest of us have to fill with our hard earned dollars. It’s kind of like royalty pretending they are doing a service for their subjects, when in reality the power and the support and the resources are all derived from the breadth of the people who willingly follow and the hard work and continuous effort they contribute.

Mexico was going to pay for the wall - False

Wealthy donors will pay for the ballroom - False

Corporations get naming rights to giant stadiums that cities and states build for sports teams while the bulk of the cost comes from tax payers.

Speaking of naming rights, we now have:

The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts

Donald J. Trump United States Institute of Peace

Trump-Class Battleships

Trump Gold Card

These entities and programs are of course ALL paid for and maintained by tax paying U.S. citizens (as well as many tax paying undocumented workers) of all political persuasion throughout the United States.

Next comes the Garden of Heroes and United States Triumphal Arch, both initially planned to utilize private sector funds, but you can bet when all is said and done, it will be all tax payer dollars used if these indeed happen.

You forgot the gold plated 400 million dollar jet Qatar gave him that taxpayers paid to modify to the tune of unknown but estimated to be one billion dollars. It is his personal gift from Qatar and he says he won’t use it when he leaves office but will donate it to his library which of course no one believes. His level of corruption and personal enrichment is unprecedented among US presidents. But one must respect the will of the voters, this is what they voted for… He thinks this is all fine and dandy which is a sign of Trump’s Derangement Syndrome.

Its not a personal gift went to US gov
With a conversion it has saved billions from the existing program to replace both jets as they have aged out

Why is being gifted to the Trump library in 2 years? Of course whether it is a gift or not is anyones opinion but..

"So how can the royal family of Qatar give Trump a $400 million ‘flying palace’ of a plane, one that will act as Air Force One during his presidency but remain his afterward?

“The answer lies in a problem that predates Trump: the presidential library system,” Levy wrote. The libraries are “established through private donations, from anyone, in any amount.”

“The Qatari plane will first be a time-limited gift to the Air Force. Shortly before Trump leaves office, after it has been upgraded at taxpayer expense, it will be transferred to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Fund, which will then keep it available for the fund’s namesake. Presto: a gift to the Air Force becomes one to the library fund becomes a lavish lifetime perk for Trump personally,” Levy continued.

“As with donations to a presidential inaugural committee, gifts to the library fund fall between the cracks of campaign finance regulations and rules governing ethics in office.”

Super, the Georgetown law professor, told us, “The president has sweeping discretion on international affairs, and can make decisions that either serve or undermine Qatar’s interests in many ways. Having them give a $400 million gift to someone who’s exercising those powers, it creates a huge conflict of interest. I should note that the president’s lawyers have been asserting that he has especially broad authority in international affairs and is not subject to review by anyone else. So having someone with effectively unreviewable authority who can help or hurt Qatar receive such a gift is profoundly unethical.”

The real Air Force One[s] will be delivered in 2028 at a cost of 4 billion dollars so Qatar isn’t saving the US any money but of course it won’t have as much gold in the interior as the Qatar ‘gift’.

Saved billions? I’m going to assume this is sarcasm

The new Air Force One’s are indeed late and billions over budget.

However the jet gifted from Qatar hasn’t even been used as a replacement Air Force One yet so it hasn’t saved any money at all (yet). It will in fact cost a billion dollars to convert this gift into a suitable Air Force One. That’s not savings, that’s cost.

Now if future U.S. Presidents could utilize this jet that will cost the tax payers a billion dollars in renovation, one could argue that it at least saved $400 million that the jet otherwise would have cost.

However POTUS has indicated that he plans to transfer it to his Presidential Library upon leaving office.

So in the end current POTUS receives $400,000,000 dollar jet. Tax payers spend $1,000,000,000 to renovate it. POTUS will use this new jet for remainder of his time in office instead of older AF1’s that every other POTUS has used. Current POTUS will take Qatar gift to his library. Tax payers still will pay for new AF1’s that are over budget and late.

Where’s the savings?

The cheaper route would have been to keep using the current older AF1’s and then use the new over budget AF1’s when they are eventually ready.

Spending $1 Billion on an intermediary plane that POTUS takes with him when he leaves office doesn’t save the tax payer any money.

The time we live in is a throwback to earlier times, before the US created “rulebased world order” and UNCLOS came into force.
Now the Trump Administration is trying to undo all that, at the peril of the world getting back to a “might is right” situation:
