# Support gCaptain Via Amazon

Hey guys, as most of you know gCaptain is an independent company that provides news, job listings and forum software for maritime professionals. We run on a razor thin budget so that we can provide you with news and services free of charge. That said we do have salaries and expenses and generate income via advertisements to pay the bills and invest in new servers and software.
We ask for little in return but there are a few small things you can do to help:
1. You can support our advertisers by clicking on ads and learning more about their products or services.
2. You can apply for [maritime or offshore jobs](http://jobsite.gcaptain.com) or share jobs with a friend who is out of work (we charge the companies a [modest fee](http://jobsite.gcaptain.com/employer/pricing/) to list jobs). You can also ask your HR manager to [list openings at your company on gCaptain](http://jobsite.gcaptain.com/employer/pricing/).
3. You can **_[shop at Amazon via our affiliate link](http://www.amazon.com/?tag=gcaptaincom-20)_** and a small percentage of anything you purchase at Amazon will be kicked back to gCaptain.

If I tap the amazon link and it opens the amazon app does it still count? Or do I have to use that link and log in to amazon through a browser for it to count?
