why does a Singapore passport get you visa free access to so many countries?
Is it because they let anyone in?
Is it because they sell passports no questions asked?
Is it because they bank anyones money?
It does make sense most visa requirements are tit for tat, if you make people apply for visa they retaliate and do it to your population.
Singapore in a lucky position as fairly secure borders and finger prints photo etc of anyone coming in so they can find people.

Dr. Lee Wei Ling occupied the premises until her death in Oct. 2024, which stopped any plans of demolition, or conversion into a “shrine” for LKY until then.
In my opinion it will be good for both the Lee family and for Singapore that this dispute is settled, one way or the other.
PS> I have walked past this gate many times over the years:
The security arrangement changed from the mid-1960s, when it was non-existent, to armed guards at the gate and the tall fence of today. Those came up sometime in the mid-1970, when Israeli security advisors were shocked at the lack of security, both her and at the Istana.
A block of flats across the road from the Istana had free access to upper floors and free view of the PMs office from there. (Upper floors had the external walkways bricked up on their advice)
Whose ego is being stroked to prevent the house from being pulled down as LKY stated many times over the years and wrote in his will.
Greater Singapore is his legacy not a house.
Goh Keng Swee worked out the long term issues for Singapore but his views were not the govs and here we are in an economy he predicted, low productivity and zero entrepreneurs and no risk taking, just filling up with low skilled workers.
The gov took the staying in power route rather than the risk of allowing and promoting free thinking.
The power base for the PAP is the LKY legacy, hence have to keep reminding the voters of the history but they are struggling to be the representative of the people these days and certainly not much clue on how to deal with todays issues.
They have no thinkers any more, all a product of LKY’s education system.
As you know they change candidates and electoral boundary’s weeks or days before an election to stop losing seats. Pre-planned and the opposition in the dark.
Its smacks of desperation.
Not taking away there is lots of great history like the Romans, Greeks, Aztecs, Inca, Mayans etc
When wealthy politicians sell their landed family properties for 10’s a millions and start renting what does that tell you….ready for exit?
The current population of Singapore is 5,885,606 as of Friday, November 21, 2025, based on Worldometer’s elaboration of the latest United Nations data1.
Source: Singapore Population (2025) - Worldometer
The percentage of Singapore born in the standing population has been dropping for years
1.9 million foreign workers now.
3 million voters so adult population is well over 50% foreign workers
Plus now with the way the Singapore economy has evolved the ones with some global experience can see no future for their kids so are leaving.
Sad to see the gov has engineered the average Singaporean out of the economy.
Before they even start their first job they are too expensive to employ in a country that only had low costs as its usp.
Hence did very well till it wasnt low cost.
As the ex PM said, no GLC makes any money any more.
Hence with so much government ownership/interference of business that just do what they always did, so are dying and no skill sets being created as they never had a mindset to compete as they had a huge cost base advantage.
Now the advantage is gone they dont know what to do.
Ai will remove jobs here and already has.
Cant take away its geographic location so port and airport will continue ( very few locals employed in either of those)
Casino doing well but its 99% foreign workers.
Supplying foreign workers and the dormitories they live in is the only booming business.
They are on a building boom now but will they get a return on the money borrowed to do that??
