I read somewhere can’t recall were, sheep carriers converted from other types of vessels have questionable cleaning procedures. Shift ballast making a significant list to wash the excrement overboard. Sheep moving to one side makes it worse.
If you’ve even been near one loaded in hot weather it’s a smell you won’t forget.
