Hello gCaptain community,
I am reaching out to this group of seasoned mariners and technical experts to validate a new framework titled “Remanufacturing Marine Assets (REMA)”, which addresses the lack of trust in the history and condition of used marine components. As the global fleet ages, the industry faces a surge of End-of-Life (EoL) capital assets that often end up as scrap due to “Information Asymmetry”.
The executive summary, “Sailing Towards Circularity.pdf” (link below), outlines a four-stage “Intelligence Layer” that uses blockchain-secured Maritime Digital Product Passports (M-DPP). The goal is to move away from unreliable paperwork and to mathematically prove that remanufacturing a high-value marine asset (such as main engines, thrusters, turbochargers, etc.) is a more profitable and sustainable option than buying new.
Your Expertise Needed:
I would highly appreciate your participation in a short 5–7 minute anonymous survey to critique the industrial feasibility and utility of this system.
Review the Executive Summary and take part in the survey: [https://drive.google.com/file/d/15Hj4fyEsL5Q6Xwbz3ba8a9vkWLPOB9JW/view?usp=sharing\] (approx. 3–5 minutes to review).
Your insights are vital to ensuring this framework is grounded in actual maritime practice rather than just theoretical modeling.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Rajesh Ankam
