Crewboat operator SeaTran has been steadily laying off vessel crew as boats come off charter and are unable to find work. About 1/3 of the 29 boat fleet is laid up and unmanned. Yesterday the email came from the office stating that there would be a pay cut across the board for vessel crew of “up to 10%” starting later this month due to substantial drops in charter day rates. Certainly not good news but still fortunate to be here.
