The restoration must have been extensive! The salt used to preserve the cod played havoc with the steel framing.

Great fun and international good will at these events.
I had my old ship at the 1992 Columbus Quincentenary with 4 July in New York, then Boston and Newport before we left the fleet and sailed home via other ports and Panama.
“Santa Maria Manuela” is back in Ålesund. She arrived from Kristiansund yesterday 28. May in the evening and will start a new cruise from here on Sunday morning, heading to Geiranger, then to Bergen:

This afternoon I tried to get a closer look, but the young guard at the ISPS gate took his duty seriously.
Here is what I managed to get from outside the fence:

Friend of mine back home sometimes makes a bacalao moqueca, but the best is with lobster.
God works in wondrous ways. An abomination that ugly deserves to be hidden from respectable view. NOT a sail ship.
I posted it to give us a laugh, since nobody died. I mean, who would actually pay money to go in that thing?!
What about a “Hybride Sail Ship”?![]()
She is in Greenland waters now:
Why go to this ridiculous extent to simply wear a false accolade of “carbon free”?
Those masts look quite carbon-dense as does the rest of the ship.
My sailing ship has government-approved whale watching status because of our sails. We can happily cruise close to the whales whilst official whale watching boats have to stand back. No big deal. The whales couldn’t care less.
